How the calculator works

Three quick steps and you get a number you can actually compare.

1

Add what you own

Enter your cash, investments, property and other assets in the four boxes. Approximate values are fine.

2

Subtract what you owe

Add your mortgage, car loans, credit cards, student loans and any other debts in the last box.

3

See who you match

We compare your total with every celebrity profile in our database and show who sits just above and below you.

What counts toward net worth

Net worth is a snapshot of what you would have left if you sold everything and paid off every debt.

Assets (what you own)

  • Cash, checking and savings accounts
  • Stocks, funds, 401(k) and IRA balances
  • Home and other real estate (market value)
  • Vehicles, business stakes, valuables

Liabilities (what you owe)

  • Mortgage and home equity loans
  • Car and personal loans
  • Student loans
  • Credit card balances and other debts
Net worth = total assets − total debts

People Also Ask

Quick answers about this calculator and how the comparison works.

Is my financial information saved anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers or stored.

How is net worth calculated?

Net worth equals your total assets (cash, investments, property and other assets) minus your total debts and loans. If your debts are larger than your assets, your net worth is negative.

Where do the celebrity net worth figures come from?

From SnoopStats’ own researched net worth profiles. Each one is sourced and estimated from public information, and the comparison uses the midpoint of each profile’s estimated range. You can read our full approach on the How We Calculate Net Worth page.

Is this calculator accurate?

It is only as accurate as the numbers you enter. It is a simple estimate for fun and orientation, not a financial plan. For real financial decisions, talk to a licensed advisor.

What is a good net worth for my age?

It varies a lot with age, income and location. Younger adults usually hold far less than people near retirement, so compare yourself with your own age group rather than with the overall average.

Does my home count toward net worth?

Yes. Enter the current market value of your home under property, and put your remaining mortgage in the debts box. The difference is your home equity.

Can my net worth be negative?

Yes. If you owe more than you own, for example because of student loans or credit card debt, your net worth is below zero. It is common early in a career and improves as you pay debt down.
